Red Snapper are excited to announce that Snorkel will be supporting them on November 21st in London. It will be a fantastic night of London Noise.
Snorkel are a south London based collective whose members come from different corners of the alternative scene, bringing together the tactics of improvisation, electronica, and sonic art. Propelled by the drums and the rhythms generated by cheap samplers and drum machines, the band revel in the joy of angular repetition, throwing in elastic interruptions on guitar, analogue and digital synthesisers and vocals.
The band’s musical influences are diverse; formed out of the post Can and This Heat landscape, improvisation is at the core of Snorkel, as they segue between afrobeat, dub and krautrock. Once described by Rock A Rolla as “the missing link between Krautrock and Lee Scratch Perry,” the band revel in angular repetition, deep polyrhythmic grooves, and the real-time sculpting of a polymorphously perverse, unruly soundscapes.
Snorkel’s traditionally mercurial line up has now condensed to a quartet, with Luke Kulukundis [aka Syd Nukuluk] joining the fold, ready to take audiences on their sonic journey with live performances across UK and Europe and in preparation for their new double album scheduled to be released in November 2025. The LP ‘Past Still Present Tense’ will be released on Slowfoot Records/Archaeon on 14th November 2025.

OUT NOW!
Barb and Feather consists of two EPs from Red Snapper; the new Ban-Di-To EP and the previous Tight Chest EP featuring David Harrow.
Ban-Di-To is a raucous, yet refined, four-tracker written by, and featuring, the Red Snapper live band (Rich Thair, Ali Friend, Tom Challenger and Tara Cunningham) which includes the much-lauded live version of David Bowie’s Sound and Vision.
Following the huge success of the band’s 2023 live LP, Live at the Moth Club, the band felt compelled to continue mining the rich vein of musical creativity and riding the ineffable wave of the quartet’s manifest chemistry, with founding members and rhythm section of the band, Ali and Rich, keen to harness said live energy and write material which reflected this togetherness and musical kinship.
